Named after Oakland Bloom’s flagship program, Open Test Kitchen (OTK) is now also a restaurant, market and community space. Through the brick-and-mortar space, we aim to create pathways to ownership for BIPOC, working-class, and immigrant/refugee chefs through cultivating just and equitable food systems rooted in cultural expression and economic empowerment.
OTK cultiivates a dynamic, collaborative space where chefs can experiment, innovate, and develop their businesses in community with one another. It will serve as a hub for cultural exchange, creativity, mutual aid and community activation.

Open Test Kitchen (OTK Eats) is open
- Wednesdays through Fridays: 9AM – 2PM, 5PM – 9PM
- Saturdays, 11AM – 3PM, + Evening events (check Instagram)
- Sundays, 11AM – 3PM
Our current operators schedule is:
- Café hours with Café con Cariño, Wednesdays through Fridays, 9AM – 2PM, and Saturday 11A-3PM
- Bites by Asúkar Palestinian-Cuban Fusion, Wednesdays 5PM – 9PM, Thursdays 11AM – 2 PM and Saturday brunches 11AM – 3PM.
- That Hausa Vegan, Thursdays and Fridays, 5-9PM and Sunday brunches 11AM – 3PM
- Rotating events on Saturday evenings (check out Instagram @oaklandbloom and @otk_eats for updates!)
